This year’s FC Pro Open Global Qualifier was an unforgettable one for the FC community, as it was packed with thrilling moments and unexpected twists throughout the three days it took to whittle down 63 players to 17.
With the action over and spots confirmed for the FC Pro Open, we’ve highlighted three standout moments that made this qualifier the perfect way to kick off the FC Pro season.
Unstoppable Obrun
Obrun’s performance in the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier will be remembered for how dominant he was. The Italian went undefeated during the tournament, securing seven victories to ensure that he makes his second appearance at the FC Pro Open later this month.
His 8-2 win over Tekkz during the Swiss Stage and two 4-2 victories over Gueric10 and The1OS showed that he’s a dangerous addition to this year’s FC Pro Open.

Rivalries
Things got a little heated during the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, especially between Tekkz and Bandar, as the latter refused to shake his opponent’s hand after Tekkz defeated him 6-2 to earn his spot in the FC Pro Open.
Fans wondering why there was a lack of sportsmanship will have to remember the rivalry between Tekkz and MSDossary. It seems as if the bad blood between the two has extended to other players from that region. Let’s see if it continues during the FC Pro Open…

Tough Times
Although plenty of dreams came true at this year’s FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, there were also some that were shattered as elite players found themselves out of the tournament.
Hashtag House’s Tom Leese and Inter Miami’s K1John ended their run in the competition with a 2-3 record, failing to advance out of the Swiss Stage. Another surprise was recent Manchester City signee Neat who was sent out of the competition during the Knockout Stage with losses to Mark11 and Fouma.
These players won’t compete at this year’s FC Pro Open, but their seasons are far from over. Keep an eye out for them once the FC Pro Leagues begin.
